PM will offer Anjali to Maa Durga this Ashtami in Kolkata, receives multiple invitations
Police in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district have launched a major investigation into serious allegations that 27 children were trafficked to Nepal. The trafficking was allegedly carried out under the false pretense of providing the children with a quality education and a better life. Compounding the seriousness of the case, it was also alleged that an attempt was made to forcibly convert the children to another religion while they were being held captive.
The shocking incident came to light after two of the 27 children managed to escape their captors in Nepal and returned home, where they narrated their entire ordeal to their deeply concerned parents. Following this report, Superintendent of Police Amit Renu immediately dispatched a police team to the village of the two children. During the visit, the police were informed that a total of 11 children from that specific village had been lured away to Nepal by traffickers.
The swift action by the administration has led to partial success in retrieving the victims. The police officer confirmed that four children from the group of 11 were successfully brought back on Wednesday. However, SP Amit Renu noted that five children from that group still remain in Nepal, while a similar report involving 16 other children from different parts of the district has also surfaced. The district administration has vowed to take all necessary steps to ensure the safe return of all the remaining children.
